PRESENTATION:

I am Cristina De Santis, student of the Master’s course Mathematical Engineering - Mathematical Modelling in Biology and Medicine curriculum, in the Department of Information Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics (DISIM) of the University of L’Aquila.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering - Electronic Engineering curriculum from the University “Niccolò Cusano” of Rome.

During my Master's course, I learned the basics of theory and practical aspects of classical atomistic simulation, doing small experiments in classical Molecular Dynamics, after following a course entitled “Computer modelling and Simulation of Biomolecules” taught by Dr. Daniele Narzi. I found the course topics very interesting, so I decided to further expand my knowledge in the field of Computational Chemistry.

Currently, I'm working on my Master’s Thesis in the Computational Chemistry team of the CBBC group under the supervision of Professor Leonardo Guidoni and Dr. Daniele Narzi, focusing on the study of the protein complex Photosystem II.
