The Department of Physical and Chemical Science (DSFC) was founded in 2012 when the Department of Physics and the chemistry section of the Department of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials merged together. Although pursuing different research fields, Physical and Chemical Sciences in L'Aquila have been sharing, over the past years, common scientific and educational objectives.
The newly born DSFC constitutes a scientific and educational hub for research in fundamental experimental sciences and it supports the teaching of these disciplines at every degree level for the entire University, aiming at strengthening scientific and cross-disciplinary advancements, the pride of L'Aquila's Physics and Chemistry School.
The researchers of the DSFC Department work in close collaboration with National and International Agencies and Consortia, sharing projects, funds, and initiatives.
