The research activity is focused on heterogeneous catalysis, starting from the preparation of catalysts (oxides, zeolites, magnetic nanoparticles, MOFs) to the testing of their activities, all with a strong focus on chemical-physical characterization, including synchrotron light techniques and neutron sources. The reactions studied range from gas-phase to liquid-phase reactions, with a strong interest in reactions leading to the synthesis of green fuels (electrochemical hydrogen production) and removal of air pollutants (conversion of carbon dioxide to methanol and abatement of carbon monoxide from industrial plants).
